Came in for brunch with my brother. As usual, he tells me he is running late as I am walking into the restaurant. I decide to grab a seat at the bar and wait for him. The restaurant just opened, so they don't make a fuss about me sitting there with just a coffee to wait. Overall the service staff was friendly and attentive, and *bonus* they all speak French, so if you're trying to practice those Duolingo skills, this would be the place to go. Minus a star- their website is a little confusing. They do breakfast (7:30-11:30) and Lunch (11:30-3:30) on weekdays only, and only serve the brunch menu (11-3:30) on weekends. This is clarified on the main page of the website, but not each individual menu section, so I was under the impression that I was able to get bread and nutella while I waited for my brother. The brunch menu is very small (10 items), so if you are looking for variety, this is not the place.

I was absolutely shocked to see the poor reviews of this place. I rarely write, but decided to do so because this is one of our favorite spots in the area and I don't know who these folks are who are writing these negative reviews - I live within a few blocks and come here for brunch every other weekend if not more frequently. It's always packed and I always feel like everyone around me treats this place like their best kept neighborhood secret.

I selfishly thought maybe I shouldn't write a review, for fear it gets more crowded. Oh well.

The food is priced where I'd expect it for any brunch place in Fort Greene. I've tried most of the brunch items and loved every one of them. The Oeufs Norvgiens are my favorite. I've spoken with the owner, and every waiter I've worked with has been very helpful. The bartenders aren't the smiliest, but this is an authentic French restaurant for crying out loud - it's not a southern dance hall serving fried chicken where everyone calls you "Honey".

Anyways... good work Paulette crew.We are so happy you're in the neighborhood and I'll see you this weekend probably. :)

Worth the trek in the snow today. Lovely drinks and brunch dishes. The wait was not as bad as expected. I never realized sake, bubbles, and wine could all be served in one place at brunch.

I loved the kale Florentine instead of spinach and my friend enjoyed the omelette special with ratatouille. A great selection of savory and Benedict dishes.

Somehow, Cafe Paulette has never been on my radar but I"m certainly happy to have tried it for brunch the other weekend. I arrived before my friend and was asked to wait at the bar - ok I guess, no biggie - I did enjoy an amazing cup of coffee while waiting (ah the aroma and the taste!). Once my friend arrived, we were promptly seated - the restaurant isn't huge so you do get to know your neighbors a bit haha but we were lucky to score a corner table so it wasn't all bad. The staff are really friendly and sweet - how can you resist an attractive man with a french accent?? Just saying (blush)... the food was pretty good as well, Croque Monsieur for me and Steak and Eggs for my friend; definitely not stingy on portions! Oh and mimosas were absolutely what the doctor ordered! Thank you! SundayFunDay!!!

LOVED the escargot, the ravioli appetizer, the meat plate, duck confit, and steak! I wouldn't recommend the cheese plate as they don't have a wide selection however. Otherwise, lovely!!!

My friend and I were headed to the Brooklyn Flea this weekend and were planning on going to Walter's for brunch. While walking there, we stumbled upon this restaurant. We took a look at the menu and decided to go for it.

The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy in that French way. My friend had the eggs florentine and I had the eggs benedict. Our poached eggs came out perfectly (they were runny inside). Eggs florentine are usually made with spinach, but Cafe Paulette made theirs with kale. Our dishes also came with a side of greens and french fries. The french fries had skin on them and were crispy and yummy. I wanted more.

I only have two gripes about this place:1) They only allow larger groups to sit at the booths. Otherwise, you have to sit at the tables. 2) The other thing to note is that this restaurant crams all the tables together. There's hardly any space to maneuver around. It felt like we were on top of the couple next to us. Having said that, the food is good and I'd come back if I lived in neighborhood.

Nice french cafe in a really nice area of Fourt Greene, in front of the park. The service is very good, and the food is good too. I ordered the ravioli appetizer and they were very small and tasty raviolis, very original! The prices are a little high.

I came here for a dinner party a few months ago, when there was still a chill in the air, and it was a wonderful experience! From the excellent customer service, to their extensive wine list, to their cozy ambiance, I enjoyed my meal thoroughly. I love, love loved the pate, escargot and mushroom soup apps. I also went for the raclette for my entree and oh my, it was the definition of cheese heaven. Divine.

Such a così place! Went there with friends for light dinner and was so happy that we choose this restaurant. First of all, they have wonderful French hosts which made my time there even better. Excellent selection of wine for any taste. Our food was pretty tasty too - I ordered beef tartare and it was delicious. My friend ordered mussels and could not be happier with her choice either. I looked at people around us and all of them were enjoying their food as well. That place has a very friendly vibe and truly French atmosphere. Will be back there definitely.

This place is really french. The escargot is on point. They have an oyster happy hour as well. Everything we've had here was really good and we felt transported to Europe.

One bite into the steak au poivre and my eyes close reflexively, allowing my senses to focus solely on the play of perfect flavors on my tongue. Call me dramatic, but the last time this happened to me with French food was actually in France. Even the ambience at Cafe Paulette--homey, full of character and charm-- was reminiscent of the small Parisian restaurant where I had this moment. It is evident that the one who prepares this food does so with experience, creativity, and love. To warm ourselves up we started with the winter special raclette: melted, gooey cheese paired with sweet pickled vegetables and cured meats. For mains we ordered the burger and the steak. While the burger was delicious and well-seasoned, it was my steak au poivre that stole the show. As a matter of fact, it's pure cocaine. Tender meat and potatoes au gratin wading in light yet creamy peppercorn sauce, and accompanied by a genius medley of greens (red watercress, tarragon, chervil, and parsley) to set it all off. We fought with ourselves to order dessert, having gorged ourselves but not wanting to miss out. We were so happy we did because the coconut creme caramel was heaven.

Ever sat down with an old friend in that unassuming little neighborhood restaurant and end up having one of the best meals ever? That, my friend, is the Cafe Paulette experience.

Amazing raclette! So rare to find in the states! Straight back to France! Also a great find of organic/ natural wine producers on the wine list! All in all cool!
